Confessions of an idiom

Hi everyone!
In this video you will find lots of idiomatic expressions. 
Your task is to recongise the ones we've dealt with during this course and to find some others. If possible, try to guess the meanings of the ones we didn't see in class and post them in a comment. Then we'll see who guesses more idioms!



Body idioms

Here are the body idioms and their definitions:


  • Have a bone to pick with someone: To ​want to ​talk to someone about something ​annoying they have done.
  • Have an eye on someone: To watch or give your attention to someone.
  • Not have a leg to stand on: To be in a situation in which you can't prove something
  • Break someone's heart: Cause severe emotional pain or grief.
  • Stab someone in the back: A betrayal of trust, an act of treachery.
  • Frame of mind: The mood that someone is in, which influences their attitudes or feelings.
